Nottingham In Fashion Show And Intu Victoria Centre Bloggers Event

Monday 27 March 2017

Hi everyone.
On Friday 24th and Saturday 25th March. Nottingham's favourite retailers came together to showcase the best spring and summer styles for a annual Fashion Event which is organised by It's In Nottingham.
The catwalk show was inside the council house overlooking the market square which had a beauty bus which offered make up demonstrations from brands such as Urban Decay and Benefit. The Beauty Temple salon were also offering free mini treatments.
I was invited on Saturday 25th March at 12pm to sit on the front row of the "Club To Campus" theme which celebrates the students of Nottingham.
The themed trends for students were Back To The Fushcia (everything pink), Born In The 80's, Statement Sportswear,  Check Mate (black and white checkered prints) and Spring Bling (floral prints and embellishments).
All of the outfits which were on the catwalk show are on the It's In Nottingham gallery website. My favourite outfits were Outfit15A, Outfit37A and Outfit73A.
I think that It's In Nottingham event gets better every year and it was fantastic to see a variety of body shapes and sizes on the catwalk. I'm a plus size lady so it's nice to see that women who have more curves are celebrated. Fashion should be about wearing clothes that you feel comfortable in no matter what size you are.

At 1:30pm it was then time to head to Intu Victoria Centre for the Spring/Summer bloggers event. To kick start the event all of the bloggers were invited to Cafe Rizzoli for a bellini cocktail (which is a mix of prosecco and fruit puree). Cafe Rizzoli is a italian cafe by the Emett Clock on the Upper Mall.
We were greeted by Intu Victoria centre staff at Cafe Rizzoli. They took us all downstairs at 2pm (just outside of Boots) to watch a live styling session. This taught us how to make the most of your spring wardrobe by layering clothes and adding accessories.
Then Intu Victoria Centre gathered all of the bloggers together to set us a Spring/Summer style challenge. We had to pick at random out of a bag a £20 Intu Victoria Centre gift card along with a card with a spring summer style trend. I got #ThinkPink which is anything pink themed.
The rule is that you could buy anything with the gift card (clothes, accessories or make up).Just aslong as it fitted in with the trend that you got given. We had half an hour to buy our items.
Me and Gemma from TheGemAgenda browsed around Victoria Centre together. We visited Monsoon, Accessorize, River Island, Quiz and Superdrug.
I decided to buy a beautiful baby pink scarf with silver sparkles from Quiz which cost £8.99 and also a velvet touch lipstick from Gosh Copanhageon in the shade "159 Romantic" for £7.99 so in total i spent £16.98 which was under budget with plenty of time to spare. Yay :)

At 3pm we all met at the Handmade Burger Co for a meal together. I had a classic beef burger, sweet potato fries and a oreo and cookes milkshake. Yum.
I'd like to thank It's In Nottingham and Intu Victoria for having  me. I had a wonderful afternoon and I'm looking forward to more events in the future.

What I've Learnt So Far About Being Highly Sensitive

Thursday 23 March 2017

Stop Apologising For Who You Are
I used to apologise to everyone for just being myself. This was because I absorbed peoples emotions and judgements towards me. I didn't want to feel the negativity energy so I would apologise to try and dim the overwhelming feelings which I had. I've come to realise that you can't be everyone's cup of tea and that's OK. I've also stopped apologising for who I am and to only apologise when i have done something stupid, ignorant or insensitive.
You Are Needed In This World
I think that the world needs more positive, sensitive and empathic people to help us all to connect with eachother and to make the world a better place. I've realised by sharing my feelings that someone might watch my videos or read my blog and say "OMG, I can totally relate to that!” and then that creates a connection.
Put Your Needs First
Highly sensitive people often struggle with putting their own needs first as it doesn't come naturally to them. Self-care is essential in order for them to function. We are excellent great listeners and counsellors but the only problem with that is that if we surround ourselves with the wrong people then we are often dumped on with problems and issues. Creating healthy boundaries is important. Making a conscious choice and practising saying "no" with love.
Express Yourself
Highly sensitive people have a high degree of creativity and imagination. When I was little (and even now) i loved anything creative. Playing with playdough, fuzzy felts, drawing and painting.
My educational background is all art subjects. I studied Art, Textiles, Drama and Graphics for GCSE. Art and Photography A level, Foundation Diploma In Art and Design. I graduated in 2012 with an HND degree in Fashion Design and I now blog and make YouTube videos.
Give Up Perfectionism
Perfectionism is a way of thinking which makes someone thinks that their life should be perfect. My perfectionism traits have really hurt me and have stopped me from doing things in life. I find the  way to work around this is by changing the perception of myself and to focus on the progression that i am making in life rather than the perfection.
In the "What I Don't Understand" video I spoke about perfection traits when it comes to filming sit down videos.
Let me know in the comments below if any of what i have said has resonated with you. What have you learnt so far from being a HSP (highly sensitive person)?

Chino Latino's Birthday Party

Monday 20 March 2017

When I recieved a invitation through my email inbox from Chino Latino asking if I would like to attend their birthday party on the 16th March. I graciously and excitedly accepted.
Chino Latino is on Maid Marian way in the heart of Nottingham city centre. It's a Pan-Asian cuisine restaurant with a latin cocktail bar. It's one of the most beautiful venues that I've ever been to in my life.
A street performer dressed in a beautiful red Chinese silk dress with chopsticks in her hair was memorising all of the guests and members of the public outside by eating fire and swinging nunchucks.
Guests were warmly welcomed into Park Plaza's lobby at 7:30pm. Alcoholic drinks and canapes were served while everyone socialised with eachother. My favourite part of the lobby was the magnificent center piece which was a large illumated table which held lines of sushi for guests to help themselves and to tuck into.
The dress code for the birthday party was red and black. My outfit was black heels (Evans), off the shoulder dress (New Look), cardigan and bag (F&F).
I'd like to say thank you to Gemma from TheGemAgenda for taking this lovely picture of me in my outfit to show on my blog :)
At about 8:30pm a beautiful chinese dragon came into the lobby and performed a dance for us and lead everyone into Chino Latino.
Zingy latino cocktails were laid out all along the bar for the guests to enjoy. I loved the orange and tequilla cocktail and it was the most delicious cocktail i've ever tasted. I would love to visit Chino Latino again for another.
The DJ was playing pop classics songs such as Shakira, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce which is my favourite type of music to dance to.
The atmosphere was lively and fun. I loved socialising with everyone from the digital industry especially my fellow bloggers. We know how to party.
At the end of last year I mentioned in my 2016 reflection video that I wanted to meet like minded people and make new friends. It's only March and I feel that i'm smashing this goal. I can't wait to see what else 2017 has in store.
Anyway a large table at the back of Chino Latino served scrummy dessert canapes. What caught my eye was the huge tower of profiteroles which made my mouth water because profiteroles are my favourite dessert. Yum!
I was sad to go home as I had such a great evening letting my hair down and dancing. But what i've learnt in my 29 years of being on this earth is that it's better to leave when you are on a high.
In my goodie bag from Chino Latino I recieved a loyalty card, discount voucher, pen, miji sauce and a yo yo.
Watch the video below :)
Follow me on my Instagram story to be notified live as i visit events in the future.
Thank you Chino Latino and Cartwright Communications for inviting me.

White Post Farm

Saturday 18 March 2017

On Tuesday 14th March. Me and my friend Sarah took a trip to White Post Farm to feed the animals, film and take photographs.
White Post Farm holds many wonderful childhood memories for me as I visited with playgroup and primary school. I remember feeding baby lambs when i was 5 years old and trying to keep the bottle still with my hands while the lamb suckled at the teet with a great force which nearly knocked me over.
Since my last visit to White Post Farm they have added new features such as Goat Mountain, Meerkats and the walk-in  aviary.
Silver Barn and Incubator room is my favourite section as you can see a chicks hatching out from their eggs and see the development in how they grow from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. I'm also a huge fan of handling small and fluffy creatures so when a baby chick was offered to hold. I could not refuse.
If animal holding isn't for you then you can always see the cows, llamas, goats, sheep, pigs and chickens outside in the animal paddocks area. I would definately recommend to buy animal feed from the entrance and shop for £1 a bag because the animals really enjoy being fed and it adds to the experience of your day.
There are plenty of hand wash stations around the farm so always remember to wash your hands after stroking and feeding every animal.
I like White Post Farm because they take very good care of their animals and the staff are friendly too.
Watch the video below :)
ENJOY!
if you visit. Please let me know in the comments below what your favourite part was. Mine is the go carts. It's fun to have a race with friends.

5 Things Which Only An Outgoing Introvert Would Understand

Wednesday 8 March 2017

1. People Either Recharge You Or Drain you
Outgoing introverts tend to have a few special friends who they can hang around with for along time. Being with certain people comes easy to you and you feel recharged just by being with them. Other people, however, can make you feel tired and drained. Outgoing introverts are often selectively social and would much prefer spending time with those who boost their energy levels.
2. You Need Down Time
As much as you love people, you can only handle so much social interaction before you need downtime. I recharge by listening to music, spending time with my family and friends, going on social media and photography.
3. Small Talk Is The Worst
It's much easier for me to say what is my mind and to share ideas rather than small talk. I find fake small talk boring which drains my energy. I've been reading articles about how to make small talk easier so it can turn into an interesting and deeper conversation.
Here are some ideas for some questions which I have found work well.
"Are there any apps on your phone that you can't live without?
"Who is your favourite person to follow on Instagram?"
"If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
"What's your favourite comfort food?"
"What's your ideal superpower?"
4. Mind Is Constantly Going
People may love you as you are easy going and great to talk to. However your mind might find it hard to switch off as it's full of thoughts.
5. We Are On A Outgoing Career Path
Outgoing introverts may be on a career path of someone who is extrovert such as a public speaker, actor, teachers, YouTubers (Hi!). We love to communicate and lead groups. When i make YouTube videos I get nervous sometimes and overthink what i am doing. I'm introspective and I enjoy reflecting on how I can improve for the next video which I put on my YouTube channel.
